The Calhoun’s wanted to change the use of their existing home. Providing an easy to use, visually pleasing AV systems, 7.1 surround theater, distributed audio and video, controlled lighting, climate, and security. They were tired of trying to explain to guest how to change the channel on the satellite or using the correct remote to watch a movie. Being empty nesters, they did not want to come home at night to a dark house– they wanted to feel safe.   Also, they wanted to be able to access their home while traveling.

The Freshour’s had an existing distributed audio system, but found they were not using it at all, because the difficulty of knowing what button to use to tune the desired sound. The theater equipment was not producing theater quality sound and was difficult to setup to watch the DVD player, or the satellite.

1Control AV corrected the use of the distributed audio system with our one - touch controls that allowed easy access by all members of the family, giving them the ability to change music, satellite feeds, and access to the new movie library.  Making the distributed audio video system useable and enjoyable especially while exercising.

The theater was completely redesigned, with a new remote control, receiver, blue ray player, control system, calibration of the existing speakers, and the addition of a rear projector with a 115” screen.  1Controlav suggested adding lights behind the screen which gave a fantastic look while watching movies. The redesigned room provides an escape for several hours in a day for the Freshour’s, along with quality family time.

The Freshour’s expanded the project several months later, with 1ControlAV to install controlled lights, climate control, door locks, garage doors sensors, video surveillance, motion detector for lights, night lighting scenes on/off on a timer, and interior lighting scenes. Making a completed smart home that provided security, ease of use, and the one- touch lifestyle.
